In Obidos (UNESCO’s world heritage site), we will take you back in time, as we walk you through the beautiful and narrow streets full of traditional shops, along the white painted old houses, walk through its walls imagining how the medieval period would have been there.
Obidos was used has a wedding gift from D. Dinis to his wife D. Isabel, the village became part of the Casa das Rainhas, only extinct in 1834, and most of the Portuguese Queen passed through it, leaving great benefits. D. Catarina orders to be build the aqueduct and fountains.
At the Sanctuary of Fatima, we will find three places of interest where you can attend a mass ( optional ), the Chapel of the Apparitions, the first Chapel to be built immediately following the apparitions occupying a prominent place, not by size or grandeur, but yes by the location, practically in the center of the Sanctuary.
The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, built in 1928 in Neo Baroque style, it houses today the tombs of the children, but also the tomb of Sister Lucia who passed away in 2005.
As well as the Basilica of Santissima Trindade, built in 2007 with more than 8000 seats and 40,000 m² of area was designed by the Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis, a modern and quite imposing church.

My wife and I spent a few days seeing Porto then needed to be in Lisbon for business for me. Our original plan was to take a train, but there were sites in between Porto and Lisbon that we wanted to see. Rather than renting a car and having to deal with unfamiliar traffic patterns and driving laws, and navigating the narrow streets of some parts of Portugal, and figuring out where to park at each stop, we decided to book a driver with WalkBorder.
Sandro was our driver and arrived exactly on time to pick us up from our AirBnB. He was a great driver and very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited and had interesting anecdotes to tell. He didn’t mind when we dozed a little in between stops and knew when to engage us in conversation and when to give us some quiet. Sondro knew exactly the best places to drop us off and made sure we had a plan on where to meet whenever we were done with our stop. He would even be “on call” by text of phone if we needed him for any reason.
We made stops at Aveiro (the “Venice of Portugal”), Costa Nova, Coimbre and Fatima. Sondro would walk us to where he was sure we found what we wanted to see, and continue acting as a “tour guide” for us. The Mercedes vehicle was clean and comfortable and Shondra had bottles of water for each of us which was a nice touch.
